In Memory of the Defenders of Adam Park
Many of you may be aware that I have been working on The Adam Park Project in Singapore for three years now and amongst the fascinating facts and figures unearthed during the project is that the defenders of Adam Park (1st Battn Cambs) were the last unit to walk to Changi after the surrender on the 19th Feb 1942 bringing their wounded and sick with them; a trip of around 24 miles !
And as a battlefield archaeologist I have always banged on about how first hand experience is far more informitive than reading about it in the books... me and my big mouth !
Mad Dogs and Englishmen !!
So here's a chance to find out at first hand what these men went through during that march. Plus there is the bonus raising a bit of cash for charity as well.
Their Fight Goes On
Its sobering to note that up to June this year the Royal Anglians (the modern day Cambridgeshires !) have lost 16 men in Afghanistan. Many more have been left with crippling wounds. Same young lads, same horrors to face. Except its here and now.
So I hope you will take time to submit a small donation and wish me luck ... I must be nuts !!
Many Thanks
Jon
