'STOP THE TRAFFIK is working to prevent human trafficking and modern slavery around the world. Our goal is to build resilience in the most vulnerable of communities and disrupt the criminal networks that operate within them.Given the organised nature of these crimes, we believe that the only way to combat them is through intelligence-led prevention. We are collecting data from around the world and building intelligence. The findings are then shared to generate targeted action, build resilience, and systemically disrupt human trafficking.'

I passionately believe in the work they do which is why between 7th-13th April 2019 I am taking part in the Marathon de Sables, which is around 251 km (156 miles) in the Sahara Desert. You cover the distance in around 7 days and are required to take your own food. I've been wanting to do this race to raise money for STOP THE TRAFFIK for over 3 years. I'm working extremely hard to get in shape for the race. My hope is to raise awareness of the work they do as well as to raise money. I remember learning about slavery in history lessons when I was at school and it's shocking that it still continues today, but charities like STOP THE TRAFFIK are helping to turn the tide against it and look for a day that when we learn about slavery it truly is a thing of the past.
