Story
On the morning of the 19 Oct 13 a Boeing 747 carrying a big group of very special children took off Heathrow and made its way to Orlando, Florida.
But this was no ordinary holiday and no ordinary destination; this was a trip of a lifetime to a magical world, this was the opportunity to give 192 seriously ill and disabled children, without their parents, a holiday of a lifetime.
My daughter was one of these children that were offered this wonderful opportunity to go on this trip to the magical kingdom. Following her return her life has changed forever. She has become more independent, more confident, resilient and has a different approach and perspective to life.
This trip and the people she has met have given her hope, showed her that there is a brighter side of life besides illness and that there are others a lot less fortunate.
However none of this would have been possible without the effort and dedication of a group of volunteers that care for these children and the ones that give up their time and effort by undertaking several fundraising events for this wonderful charity.
It is with this in mind that I now decided to join them and do something to help this charity and do my bit to give other children the same wonderful opportunity that was given to my daughter.
With this in mind, on the 16thJuly I am riding my motorcycle from John O’Groats to Lands End with the minimum fuel/snack stops possible.
