Story
My running journey began just 5 years ago with the thought of achieving a Marathon well out of reach, but over those years I have always seen that as the ultimate goal.
Now I have been given this great opportunity to run my first Marathon for Headway Jersey, The Brain Injury Charity.
In the past 18 months Headway Jersey have seen their fundraising devastated with losses of £150,000 due to Covid-19 and this continues to rise placing their services under threat.
I've seen first hand the outstanding work they do for those who have suffered from brain injury including stroke, brain tumour, aneurysm and accidents amongst many other causes and also the support they provide their families.
These services include neuro-physiotherapy, cognitive therapy, exercise therapy and social activities and life skills.
With annual running costs of £300,000 and very little support from the Government, despite receiving around 40 referrals a year, Headway would really appreciate your support, more than ever in 2021.
