Story
As many of you will know I was diagnosed with breast
cancer in May last year. The following
months were spent going through chemotherapy and eventually a mastectomy. This was a difficult time, but with the
support of family and friends, I have come to the end of my treatment and am
thankfully feeling fit, healthy and loving life again.
The time I spent
at Altnagelvin Hospital at appointments, operations & a week in ward 50 due
to a tooth abscess, was made much more bearable thanks to the amazing staff,
doctors, nurses and surgeons alike. The
kindness, care and attentiveness was second to none!!!
So now I want
to give something back for all that I received. To do this, I am again taking the advice of
my surgeon Dr P Diggin. He has
recommended that Queens University Breast Cancer Research is a great and
worthwhile charity to raise money for, with 100% going into research here in
Northern Ireland.
On 29 June,
we will be holding a Charity BBQ, Stockjudging and Charity Auction, Tickets
will be available from mid May.
All donations
will be greatly appreciated. This is
such a worthy cause close to many of our hearts and we hope to raise a
substantial amount.
Finally I
would like to thank all my friends, family and wider circle who have supported,
prayed and helped me in the past months, and continue to do so in the
organizing of this BBQ. I feel so
blessed to have such people around me!
