No matter how long it takes (although the event is only supported for 30 hours) I will complete the 100km overnight trek from Fulham Palace to Southend in aid of the British Heart Foundation because:
a) My heart beats. Your heart beats. I'd like to keep them both going for as long as possible. 
b) I'm training to take a group of youth club members to hike and conserve the Appalachian Trail in September to complete their John Muir Award. They're all fitter than me. It could be really embarrassing. 
c) I figured the 50km option would be hard but just about do-able. So, if I'm going to ask you, kind person, to cough up a few quid in sponsorship, I'd better push the boat out and do the full 100km (that's 62.13miles in case you're wondering)
