Story
After the success of Jump For Water (14'500ft Yes. You read correctly. 14,500! That’s 5.3 times the height of Burj Dubai/Khalifa (The worlds tallest building) skydive raising over £16,400 for wells, water purification and ORT across Africa))
I've decided to do it all over again.
This time the team and I have decided to fundraise for vital medical aid in Syria.
Syrians are living in poverty and living without basics, we are beyond lucky that we have food, clean water, good health care and a safe place to stay. Unfortunately many in Syria none of the above. We have open access to medical aid. Just imagine the pain of the inured and unwell in Syria.
Syrians are being killed daily, (even children are not spared) and no matter how badly they are hurt they can not get the medical aid they need due to lack of medical equipment and drugs.
You may have seen footage of children with missing limbs and burns, screaming in agony. Without surgical facilities, antibiotics, or the right sized cannula’s to administer pain relief, the injured and unwell may well not survive. With access to some drugs and equipment, they stand a chance.
Did you know?
* The conflict in Syria has been going on since March 2011
* Resulting in over 100,000 deaths. (UN Figures - July 2013)
* Over 2.3 million Syrian refugees have now fled into neighbouring countries.
* Almost 7 million are in need of humanitarian assistance inside Syria
