It’s difficult to put into words how fantastic the Haven breast unit is, but the staff there are among  most caring people  I’ve ever met. During scary times they provide gentle reassurance, and their kindness and support goes above and beyond. 

The breast unit has been there for me and my family twice now - first when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 and again following my recent diagnosis in July. To be under the care of Mr Thrush and his team is something I’m incredibly grateful for, and  I would love to give something back, on behalf of all the women and their families affected by breast cancer. 

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October I’m going to be walking the Worcestershire Way to raise funds for the unit.

I’ll be walking every day, for at least a mile, on the 30 mile route . Some days I’ll be able to do a few miles, and the days when due to treatment, I’m unable to make it to the route, I’ll walk nearer to home.
