Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the Greater Manchester Marathon on the 28th of April to raise money for Intensive Care Foundation. This charity goes towards funding Intensive Care Units, who treat people at their most critical stage after an accident or surgery.
The marathon is taking place a year since our accident in Australia. Intensive Care Units saved Gilbert's life, without them he wouldn't be here today with us. They put him in an induced coma for 9 days and had a nurse with him 24 hours. He had one on one care for almost 4 weeks whilst in there.
I can't put into words how grateful I am to them. Nearly losing someone who you couldn't image your life without, is a traumatic thing. He has been the bravest person I know though it all, always optimist and motivated. It really puts into prospective the things you take for granted and makes you appreciate the smallest things.
Training and running this marathon is a committment and a challenge. I am willing to put myself through this but it will never compare to what he has been through.
