Story

Hi Everyone,

I have decided to do a 300ft bungee jump with one of my closest friends. She is also the reason that I have decided to raise money for the IA (The Ileostomy & Internal Pouch Support Group). This will take place on 16th April 2017 - So not very far away at all!

Last year, my friend became seriously ill, and as a result needed her bowel removed and now has an ileostomy bag. She hasn't let this hold her back, and honestly, I am in awe of her! Instead of changing everything about her and her life, she is using it to push herself forward by continuing to go to the gym, do Pole and Tole classes, and just to be an amazing person and inspiration not only to strangers, or other people going through the same thing, but to her friends as well. Ashlygh wont be raising money for charity, she will be doing something which can be considered as equally important. She is raising awareness. She wants everyone to know that those with stomas don't have to stop doing the things they love or that they find exciting. She will be sharing her experience of this and everything else she does on her Facebook blog - Ashlygh: My Stoma and I https://www.facebook.com/search/top/q=ashlygh%20my%20stoma%20and%20i  Feel free to message her and share her page. She's really firnedly and will answer as many questions about everything that she can!

I am hoping to raise £200 for the IA, although more would be fantastic. The full amount raised will be going to the charity which will use the funds for care and research purposes. They have five aims they wish to accomplish in order to help those who have had an Ileostomy. The charity was originally set up by people who had an Ileostomy and the care providers who worked with them. for more information about the charity, here is a link to their website http://www.iasupport.org/

Doing something like this is completely out of my character and while I am a little bit scared I'm also completely excited.
