Story

I have recently been made aware of Reading Association for the Blind, who's objective is to enable sight impaired people to live full and active lives by providing the opportunity to take part in activities that they may otherwise not be able to do.

I have been fortunate enough to see the great work the staff and volunteers do for its service users, having recently attended the Reading Santa Run and Christmas Fair organised by the team. I wanted to give something back and to provide support for the charity to continue its great work, which clearly enriches the lives of all around them.

If you are interested in knowing more about what the charity does please visit their website www.readingassociationfortheblind.org or interested in fundraising yourself contact 0118 957 2960.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm excited for the Reading Half and to hit that target (monetary and a new personal best!!).

About the charity

Reading Association for the Blind exists to help and support the blind and Visually impaired people of Reading. We provide a home visiting service for people who cannot leave there homes, offering guidance and support where needed. We encourage people to get out of their homes and socialise with others. We run a variety of clubs including craft clubs twice a week, a social club, rambling group and our Young at Heart group where regular trips are organised and we also have an IT suite where we are able to train people in the use of computers with software suitable for people with visual impairement. Invariably there is something for everyone and our emphasis is on people having fun whilst remaining safe.
