INTRODUCTION

I am Kara and I am from the Wirral. I am a mother to a very lovely baby boy who has been the inspiration for me to raise money for Ickle Pickles.

WHAT I AM DOING

I am organising and participating in a Charity Pram Push. 

THE REASON WHY

My son Logan despite being term was born not breathing. He had a Pleural Effusion and had had meconium in his airway following a difficult labour. It was the worst few minutes of our lives. The heartache and worry as he was taken away was indescribable. He then spent four days in the special care baby unit at Arrowe Park receiving treatment. Thankfully he recovered quickly and despite a rocky start is now a thriving 5 month old!

Seeing all the other sick and tiny babies in the unit was heartbreaking. It was bad enough that Logan was there for a few days, I could not imagine what it was like for the parents whose babies would be there for weeks/months. I knew I wanted to help in some way

WHY I HAVE CHOSEN THE CHARITY

I have chosen Ickles Pickles as they provide specialised equipment such as incubators and ventilators to help Neonatal units care for sick and premature babies.

I have asked that the money goes to Arrowe Park Neonatal Unit as it was the hospital that cared for my son. The staff at Arrowe Park were amazing and we could not thank them enough for the care and kindness that they showed us at such a difficult time. The equipment is vital to helping babies survive.

WHAT I PLAN TO DO

I plan to do a pram push with Logan from Hoylake to New Brighton along the promenade which is approximately 7/8 miles. The date is the 4th April 2015.

Other mums/dads/aunts/uncles/grandads/grannys will be joining me on my mission.
