Story
Thanks for visiting my page.
In October I will be running my favourite race, the London Marathon, to raise money for Suicide Crisis, a charity based in my home town of Cheltenham that works locally and nationally to prevent suicide.
Their Suicide Crisis Centre is open 24 hours a day and offers a safe place where local people who are at high risk of taking their own lives can be supported and helped through their crisis by an amazing team of caring, kind and empathetic people whose work is literally life changing.
My reason for choosing this charity is very personal and won’t come as a surprise to anyone who knows me. In February 2020 our world was turned upside down when my beautiful younger sister and running partner Anne-Marie took her own life. The impact that this sudden and enormous loss has had on our family and her close friends has been monumental. Losing her has left an enormous void and the pain never goes away.
By running for Suicide Crisis, I hope to raise awareness of the incredible work this charity does for vulnerable people having suicidal thoughts, and to help towards preventing other families from going through similar emotional distress.
Suicide Crisis is a small, independent charity that relies on small grants and public donations to fund its work. Please help them to continue by making a donation. Donating through JustGiving is very simple and totally secure and your money goes directly to the charity. You can find out more about Suicide Crisis here: http://www.suicidecrisis.co.uk
