Well, I thought I'd best get cracking with my fundraising page since the clock is ticking & it's only 6 & a bit weeks to the big event  

For those of you that know me well, you know that my mum died last November. She was in her own bed & being cuddled by me, my dad & my brother. Something we never would have imagined after an 11 year struggle with Alzheimer's.

I didn't say we lost my mum in November as we actually 'lost' her about 6 years ago when this horrid disease stole the majority of her memories and she stopped recognising us on a regular basis...& this got worse & worse until she didn't know us at all.

My dad was amazing & cared for the love of his life with kindness & patience. This took its toll on him though & when we discovered the support & friendship offered by BIADS, in his own words they "saved his life".

Dad continues to visit BIADS & really enjoys his time with them, so I thought I'd try & raise some much needed cash so that this amazing local charity can continue to provide the support for people who need it at the most challenging time imaginable.

Please be generous if you can & if not, have a dig down the side of the sofa & see if you can find a bit of small change...every little helps!
