Only 4 weeks to go and I will be taking part in the Virgin London Marathon! As you will probably already know, it has been a dream of mine for years to do this, and I am doing it to raise money for Parkinson's UK in memory of my Gran, Winifred Marshall.

My Gran had Parkinson's for many years, and for many years she did a fantastic job of just getting on with her life and not letting it stop her. But, as she got older, this neuro-degenerative condition took it's toll on her and it was hard to see the effect it had on such a vibrant, energetic, feisty lady.

One of my favourite memories of Gran was of the two of us sprinting to the shop one evening before it closed. I could barely keep up, and the two of us laughed together as she said "come on, we can do it". I thought she was "Supergran"!! I will remember my lovely Gran when I run the marathon and I know with her memory, and your support, I can do it, and at the same time support this wonderful charity.
