Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I am doing another charity bike ride - participating in Life Cycle 5 as part of the University of Nottingham's Impact campaign.  This year funds raised will go to
the study of dementia, using leading-edge MRI scanning systems to understand the different ways in which dementia damages brain cells. This will pave the way for earlier diagnosis and individually tailored treatments. This is because despite the fact that over 800,000 people in the UK have dementia and one in three of us has a family member or close friend who is affected, dementia only attracts 1/12th of the funding devoted to cancer research.

I’m cycling for all people and families affected by this devastating disease, in the hope that the combination of early recognition and the quest for a cure results in less suffering and quality life years regained for all.
I will be joining fellow riders from the University, cycling 170 miles across the country from Morecambe to Bridlington on 5-7th June.  My target is to raise £1,000 towards the Impact Campaign’s £350,000 target.  Every little bit helps, so please dig deep to support me in this worthy cause.
