Hi Everyone, 

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page! I'm doing some work fundraising for a great little charity called StreetGames who make such a positive difference to the lives of children across the UK. 

Since 2007, StreetGames has worked to change the lives of disadvantaged young people in the UK through the power of sport. I think they’re doing some pretty special stuff. Over the next few months I will be planning and taking part in a whole host of fundraising activities with some colleagues, which are taking place all over the country. From bake sales to sponsored runs, cycling challenges and gaming marathons, we’re going all out to make as big a contribution as we can to the work of this great charity. 

 

So what will your donations go towards? I'm focusing my fundraising efforts on a project called ‘Fit & Fed’. ‘Fit & Fed’ was piloted during school holidays in 2016, and provides activities and lunches for children who would otherwise be in receipt of free school meals. During holiday periods, 73% of the poorest families cannot regularly afford to feed their children. 80% of children lose their fitness gained during the school term. ‘Fit & Fed’ aims to not only provide children with meals and physical activity, but it engages kids in activities and hopes to provide them with positive memories from their school holidays. We hope to raise the much needed funds to see this programme rolled-out in 2017. 

 

‘Fit & Fed’ costs just £5.50 per child, per day. StreetGames will link up with local charitable organisations offering food donations, with the added benefit of tackling food wastage. 

If my team and I can raise £3,000 this will cover all the food and drink for all participants in one neighbourhood for the 30 days of summer holidays!
