I'm jumping as a personal challenge and also to raise funds for the Happy Child work in Recife, Brazil. 

Please support me to help young mothers such as Clarissa who arrived at the safe home with her 3 year son after escaping a terrifying drug gang ordeal. They were hunted down and Clarissa's young partner was brutally assassinated in front of their eyes.  Happy Child staff helped provide for their practical and emotional needs to give them the best chance and opportunity of recovery and now 2 years on, Clarissa is building a new life for herself, and her son is doing well at school. 

Part of the work of the safe home is to help the young mums gain a sense of value and significance. According to the resident psychologist, celebrations such as birthdays are an excellent way to make the mums feel special. Until they arrive in the safe home many of the mums may never have experienced the special birthday moments every child deserves. £500 will pay for all the birthdays of the girls and babies this year. Any donation, however, small will make a difference.
