I am Katie. I am a mental health nurse working for East London Foundation Trust. I work with a fantastic group of nurses at a Home Treatment Team in Newham. We are passionate about our service users and carers getting the best support possible when in a mental health crisis and my dream is for everyone to be able to access personalised and responsive mental health care that to a high standard. This includes them having access to other support agencies such as Mind who provide  local support, advice, training and campaign for better mental health for all.

I am also a carer and my partner has schizo-affective disorder which brings with it it's challenges but also allows us both a different perspective on patient care and the needs of carers. She is also a mental health nurse. 

The work that mind do is absolutely vital in our battle to continue to strive towards having equal care for both physical and mental health.

I will run this half with my patients and my partner in the forefront of my mind and the hope that those who have lost their lives due to their mental health are now at peace.
