Based in the heart of Southsea, The LifeHouse is a support centre and kitchen that targets the immediate needs and issues surrounding homelessness and addiction in Portsmouth. 

Lesley and her team aim to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to improve their situation, opening their doors twice a week to offer hot meals and a listening ear whilst providing a safe and inclusive environment for socially vulnerable people.

The homeless epidemic has reached astonishing levels in the UK, and so on behalf of The Canteen - my workplace who have selected The LifeHouse to be their charity of the year - I will be running 13.1 miles for those in need and aiming to raise as much money as I can in the next three weeks! 

Realigning our perspective on how fortunate we are to have a roof over our heads and a warm bed to sleep in at night is so important. Every little helps.
