Story
Aniridia is a very rare genetic disorder affecting the eyes. My daughter Tina was born with it. It causes a lack of irises and poor vision, leaving many partially sighted or blind. It affects 1in 50.000-1in100.000 people.
The support and guidance we received from Specialists at Moorfield's Eye Hospital and especially people who run ANIRIDIA NETWORK UK was immensely valuable from the moment Tina was diagnosed.
Aniridia Network UK is a wonderful charity which is run by unpaid team of people with Aniridia, their parents and relatives and their funding comes entirely from donations. They want all people affected with Aniridia to be hopeful, supported and well informed about this condition.
As a small token of our gratitude for all their support since Tina was diagnosed with Aniridia I have decided to train and take part in Hackney Half Marathon that will be held in May 2018.
Every pound counts and all of the money raised will go towards helping people affected by this rare genetic disorder even more.
Anything you can spare for this great charity is therefore gratefully received.
Thank you very much, Katja and Tina
