We fund vital research into breast cancer to increase survival after diagnosis

Story

In 2019, we both (Victoria and David) ran the London Marathon for Against Breast Cancer (a charity which focuses on research to find a cure for secondary breast cancer).  What we didn't know at that time was that Victoria was actually running with secondary breast cancer that was spreading to her bones!  Shortly after the marathon Victoria started to get back pain whilst training, and this intensified so quickly, that within months she was living on a cocktail of strong painkillers and could not walk without the aid of 2 sticks.  Just getting up the stairs to go to bed at night felt like a very painful marathon!

Once diagnosed, a combination of radiotherapy, ongoing chemotherapy, tailored exercise, grit, determination, support and most importantly prayer and faith has seen us to this point.  We are living with the cancer because there is currently no cure.  David is running this year because we would love you to support Against Breast Cancer in their work to find a cure.

We appreciate all your help, thank you!

About the charity

Against Breast Cancer are working to prevent secondary breast cancer by funding unique research into the development of new treatments, including ultimately a vaccine; improving upon current blood tests; and assessing diet and lifestyle for factors that increase the risk of secondary breast cancer.
