It has been a lifelong dream of mine to reach a summit and Mont Blanc is the chosen one! Mont Blanc is 4810m and is the highest summit in Western Europe. I will be away from my family for a week sleeping in huts either in Chamonix or on the mountain itself. I will have 5 gruelling days at altitude to increase acclimatisation and I will be taught knots and rope work, crevasse training and avalanche prediction. This is undoubtedly going to push me to my limits mentally and physically so rather than just going through the pain for my own personal reasons it feels right to be carrying out this adventure for charity as well!

I want to raise as much money as possible for Smile Support & Care, a local charity in the area where I live who carry out great work providing full and part-time support to families with disabled children and young adults up to and beyond the age of 25 across Hampshire. This could be respite care for several hours per week for a child with autism through to 24-hour care for those suffering life-limiting conditions.
