As a national charity, MHA enables people to live later life well. Through 90 specialist care homes, 70 thriving retirement living schemes and 62 vibrant community groups, it inspires the best care and wellbeing at every stage of later life. With over 75 years’ experience MHA puts people at the heart of everything it does in all their homes and schemes across Britain. Today it supports over 19,000 people each year through its unique blend of care homes and community and retirement living schemes embedded in local communities.

Over the last year all MHA services have faced immense challenge. It has had to adapt and in doing so found new ways to connect and support even more people in later life.  Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, MHA care homes and retirement living schemes have continued to support and care for their residents, providing nursing, end of life and palliative care and supporting those living with dementia.

 MHA Communities has been tackling loneliness and isolation by adapting the way it supports it members.  Over the past few months, schemes have welcomed more than 550 new members, delivered at least 38,000 food parcels to people shielding and made over 48,000 befriending and wellbeing calls along with many other services and fun activities.

The impact of Covid-19 on older people and care homes has been widely communicated in the media and so we do hope that you feel that you could sponsor us on our 30 kilometre walk across the North Downs and help us raise much needed funds to support MHA's work.
