It aims to ensure that survivors have all the help they need to cope with such a tragedy, and that they remain part of the police family.

M.A.D Birmingham is a youth engagement programme which uses activities, such as sport, to tackle social issues.

Young people from some of Birmingham's most disadvantaged communities now have the chance to express themselves thanks to a funding boost from Big Lottery and Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

The M.A.D programme includes a 'VAN' load of activities and resources for music production, video filming and editing, games consoles and sports equipment. They offer a host of opportunities, including street soccer, badminton, table tennis and much more.

I am scared of heights and I felt that it would be great if we could use our challenges to support others who have some personal challenges of their own. I feel it be great if through this event we can help make a positive difference to these people's lives. Please support me and others who are taking part. As a retired police officer and a trustee of sport Birmingham I have an understanding of what these two charities are trying to achieve.
