Story

Ken Cashmore passed away on 16th May 2020 at the age of 85 years old. Ken was a supporter of the Royal British Legion and raised a great deal of money selling poppies in his home town of Tamworth, Staffordshire.

Ken started his association with the Armed Forces during his National Service when he left school; he joined the Royal Signals Corp. Ken married his first love Doreen, and had 3 children, Karen, Kevin and Les. He worked as a postman for most of his life, and during this time he helped to fund raise for the Royal British Legion. He was dedicated to supporting the poppy appeal every year, standing in the Ankerside shopping center and the Asda store in Tamworth. He must have been one of the most popular gentlemen in Tamworth as often there was a queue to speak to him and buy the poppies.

He had a charming personality and a sense of humour that always brought a smile to people’s faces and made them laugh.

He will be missed dearly by his family, close friends and his comrades of the British Legion!

RIP Dad
