Story

I've always wanted to run a marathon and one day I will - but small steps first: enter Bupa London 10,000.

This madcap idea started when my good friend Andrea tried to get me to take on a charity place in this race. I didn't because I didn't want to stress out about trying to raise a minimum total or take the place of someone else.

But what I did do is persuade Andrea (who admits to not being a runner at alll) and my friend Amy (who tries really hard to run but could do with this little motiviation) to join me (big intentions to run girl). So on May 27, 2013, we will be running/hobbling our way round the streets of London trying to raise as much money as possible for some worthwhile charities - and that is where you come in. So give me all your money now please. Or whatever you can spare because this is an amazing cause.

I have promised to remind Andrea 100 metres in that we are doing this for the HR Trust because no other family or friend should have to go through what we've all gone through this year.

May 27, 2012, was the day this year I found out my lovely godson Olly was in hospital. Amy had never met Olly or Andrea at this point but she was with me when I got that text message and she knew how much he meant to me.

We all hoped for the best - it started with an ear infection - but it was not to be. Olly died on June 5, 2012, and opening the door to find Andrea's sister and brother-in-law greeting me with that awful news at 10pm has got to be one of the most awful nights of my life.

But on May 27, 2013, we're going to be turning our awful experience into hopefully something positive for the future.

Olly's smile was infectious. He might have only been two-years-old but he had a big appetite for life and fun. I was overwhelmed to be asked to be his godmother - I know nothing about kids or god for that matter but it turned out to be the biggest honour. I can't get across here how important he was to me. He just was.

Thinking of Olly will get us round - and all the pennies you are going to give me will as well!

Thank you sooooooooooooooooooooo much. Love you all xxx
