Royal Parks Half Marathon 2010 · 10 October 2010 ·

Vasculitis UK provides support, advice and information to those suffering from vasculitis and their families. VUK also sponsors research into the causes and treatment of vasculitis and works to raise general awareness of ALL types of vasculitis. VUK is run by volunteers who all have vasculitis.

Story

Soooo...I've decided to walk (no, not run!!) the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October.
And now my goooorgeous flatmate Lizzie (who has the biggest heart) has decided to join me in the marathon!!!!

 I have two reasons really:
1. To really challenge myself and get my ankle back into action from my operations and......
2. My beautiful Mum was diagnosed last year with Wegener's Granulomatosis. This rare, debilitating disease has crippling effects on the patient and their families.
Wegener's granulomatosis is a form of vasculitis (inflammation of blood vessels) that affects the lungs, kidneys, and other organs. Due to its end-organ damage, it is life-threatening and requires long-term immunosuppression.

There are few drugs that are available for Wegener's, so research is constantly needed, but unfortunately there is never enough money in the piggy bank for this!

Please, please help me in raising awareness and support for all sufferers and their families. This is something so close to my heart, and will truly appreciate and know how much it will mean to my Mum, our family and all other WG patients for any donation, of any size.
The Stuart Strange Trust (whom i'm donating all monies to) doesn't employ any staff, so every penny really will make a difference.

So come along and join us if you can on October 10th. All the details are here www.royalparkshalf.com
We will need someone waiting at the finish line with a towel and huuuuuge glass of wine!!! hee hee

Thank you so much in advance
With Love...Kerry xxx
