For reasons that escape me, I’ve agreed to ride from London to Paris by bike covering 295 miles in just four days. I think it comes under the heading “Seemed like a good idea at the time” … Actually, this is the reason why I'm doing it; cats like Lola (pictured above) need our help.
We have failed to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, we tried planting a money tree but it just produced moldy apples, as these methods have failed we have to rely on tried & tested fundraising...Make someone suffer in the hope of raising a few bob.
Vet bills don’t pay themselves. We need to raise on average £1500—£2000 each and every month to cover the cost of ensuring that cats like Lola receive the veterinary treatment that they need to ensure that they are healthy, happy and free from pain.
This challenge takes place next July and according to my training plan I will do at least 1000 training miles over the coming months. I’m not getting any younger so it’s got to be worth a few quid to see an old man suffer.
This four day challenge will be as follows
Day 1 - London to Calais - Cycling distance - approx. 73 miles
Day 2 Calais to Arras - Cycling distance - approx. 80 miles
Day 3 Arras to Compiegne - Cycling distance - approx. 74 miles
Day 4 Compiegne to Paris - Cycling distance - approx. 68 miles
I hope to raise £2500 by completing this challenge to help look after the numerous cats and kittens that need our help at Cats Protection Nottingham Adoption Centre. Please sponsor me for whatever amount that you can afford, every penny helps.
