I am running the London Marathon on Sunday 3rd October in aid of the Surrey Care Trust. They are a fantastic local charity that really would be grateful for your support.

Since 1982, The Surrey Care Trust have offered a unique multi service, skills training and mentoring approach across Surrey helping families, vulnerable young people and low-skilled adults to build
resilience and self-reliance to:

·       Build their confidence and skills to create better chances for life,
learning and work

·       Improve their wellbeing and engagement with their local communities

·       Provide positive childhoods and supportive families

It is their mission to break the Cycle of Disadvantage in Surrey and they achieve this through three interrelated service themes:

Skills to Thrive: the STEPS to 16 is alternative learning that specialises in supporting 14 to 16 year olds unable to access mainstream education; free and independent Youth Counselling for 16 to 25s unable to access support elsewhere; Mentoring
Support for young people and adults struggling with isolation and long term unemployment; helping to bring the community in Stanwell together to take action on local issues by supporting the Local
Conversation project

Nurture through Nature: unique outdoor opportunities supporting people to improve their skills, mental health, and their wellbeing through activities on their Swingbridge Boats and at their Gateway Allotment

Flourishing Families: long term Mentoring Support from
trained volunteers to help young people and families to raise their
skills and realise their aspirations; Stanwell’s Family Centre - supporting families to give their children the best start in life

The charity have been working solidly throughout the pandemic helping some of the most vulnerable people in the area. Any donation you can make towards my marathon will go directly to help their fantastic work.
