Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In July 2009, my wife Clare was diagnosed with an Intraosseous Meningioma (a rare subtype of Meningioma that accounts for less than 1% of all Osseous tumours) in her head. In November that year, Clare was successfully operated on to remove the growth which fortunately turned out to be a slow growing, benign tumour. This left Clare with a titanium plate covering a substantial proportion of the right hand side of her brain where her skull had been removed. In August 2014, it was discovered that the tumour had returned, but this time, slightly lower down. This left Clare with a concave feature between and above her right ear and eye. Unfortunately, the growth has returned again, meaning that Clare will undergo further surgery in the not too distant future. Throughout Clare's illness, I can honestly say that the hospital have been absolutely superb in all aspects of her care and we are reassured that Clare will again be looked after by Mr Hardwidge and his team. Raising money on their behalf is obviously very personal to us and to our family and friends who have witnessed first-hand, the exceptional level of care Hurstwood Park provides. Choosing this charity to support was the easiest decision I have ever made, apart from marrying Clare of course!
