I am hoping to raise funds to raise awareness of the effects of meningitis. I personally became effected as an adult, there was no warnings, no tell tale signs, just an excruciating head ache that came from know here on an otherwise normal day. I was lucky enough to be with my wife who called for an ambulance, so I was lucky to get immediate treatment. However, it took at least a year to recover and I still suffer from head aches and dizziness. I am grateful everyday for overcoming the illness, but some people are unaware of the severity of this illness and do not understand or recognise the symptoms in time. Charities like Meningitis Now help raise this awareness and offer support for sufferers.

It has been a long hard battle to recovery, but now that I am well I feel like I should do something that is a challenge to show my appreciation and gratitude that I feel is a second chance.
