Story
This weekend Chris and I will be taking part in the Stradbroke Triathlon swimming 160m, cycling 17K and running 3K and Jerome and Imogen will be swimming and running in the junior aquathlon. This is first time that any of us have taken part in such an event. We're really excited and hoping to raise awareness, as well as fundraising for The Osborne Trust (http://www.theosbornetrust.com) who give support to the children of parents who are undergoing treatment for cancer.
I found out about the charity from my best friend Jane, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer last summer. The Osborne Trust recognises that a cancer diagnosis affects the whole family, by offering parents some much needed rest and the children some time out away from all that cancer entails. They give support and comfort to the families, especially the children by taking them on fun trips - out for a meal, a cinema trip or off for some adventurous play. They provide a positive and practical respite that all the family going through cancer can benefit from.
