Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October 2019 we did a trek to Everest Base Camp and raised money for Hull4Heroes Veterans Village. Matthew was just 12 yrs old when he completed the trek. We both wanted to return to Nepal and aim to go higher into the mountains with Mera Peak being the next step at 6,476m in height. Due to the coronavirus pandemic we had decided to wait until 2022 to return.
Matthew is a Yr10 student at Ron Dearing UTC school in Hull, when we learned that one of his teachers Rachel Appleyard had set up Freddie's Friends in memory of her little boy we immediately thought that it would be great to use our expedition challenge to Mera Peak summit to raise the profile of this great local charity which provide specialist equipment, support and respite for disabled children and their families in the region.
ALL the cash raised through our trip will be passed to Freddie's Friends to provide specialist equipment, or some money for therapy, or just to pay for a short break or a special toy that they would like.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
We will try and update the page with images and photos throughout the trip and also via social media if possible. There's a lot going on in the world right now and the last few years have been tough on everyone in one way or another and we will truly appreciate any cash amount your able to provide for Freddie's Friends to utilise.
Many Thanks
Kris and Matthew
