I connected with Manny Ohonme - CEO of Samaritan's Feet - over KU basketball and I quickly learned his story was closely linked to my father's story. Manny received his first pair of shoes from people who came to his village in Nigeria. My dad was a college basketball coach who was chosen as a delegate to teach basketball in small villages in Africa. His team brought shoes, t-shirts and basketballs to these communities and the children were so grateful for these resources. You never know the impact of these efforts until you hear a story like Manny's. Talking with him inspired me to take an active role in supporting Samaritan's Feet.
