Story
So, the latest Smile with Siddy challenge is about to get up and running, quite literally! I wanted to do something pretty challenging that spans over time so that we can raise as much as possible for this great cause. I kind of wish the first person I spoke to about this wasn't an absolute running keeno (Andy Willis!) and so I have been convinced that this is a 'totally doable challenge.'
I'm going to be running 10K EVERYDAY in the Month of January. Yes, that's right, 10K.Per.Day. Now that it's written in black and white it's not quite so funny. I have however roped in 4 'Sunday Super Subs' aka 4 amazingly brilliant friends who will be running a 10K in my place each sunday of the month, just to give my shins-and-knees-and-feet-and-muscles a break!
Each day I will be uploading my distance and time via my Strava app so there's no chance of faking it.
Matt and Flora's entire family have been through something that no family should ever have to go through. Attending the service for Sid back in February was one of the saddest days I have ever been a part of, but the turn out of people full of love and support for the Cahill family was overwhelming. Testament to what an amazing little family they are. By doing challeges such as this one - and like so many that have taken place already - not only keeps the memory of little Sid alive, but helps to show Matt and Flora how much support they have from all of us.
The Month of January is going to be a tough one - not only on my knees - but becasue January 28th marks the Anniversary of Sid's passing. Therefore lets try and raise as much money as we can to help fight Neuroblastoma. We really can make a difference and help other little boys and girls keep smiling like Siddy.
On this page there is a link to Siddy's website, please take 5 minutes out of your day to read through it.
