Giving birth to my son was exceptionally difficult. I was lucky in that I had constant support from my husband, family, and my midwife team. I know that this is not possible for everyone -- with some woman being too scared to get help and/or are unable to pay for the costs related to pregnancy and childbirth. When I go back to work I am unlikely to have my all of workers rights respected because I am a mother. Many women in the UK face serious problems with their employers regarding pay, breastfeeding, and time off. Pregnant women and mothers are disproportionately made redundant by their employers in the UK.
Maternity Action offers support to women who need help when it's needed most. From vulnerable women who need access to healthcare, to helping mothers (and fathers) know their work rights as parents, Maternity Action offers pamphlets and one-on-one support.
Thank you for taking the time for looking at my fundraising page. I hope you think what Maternity Action is seeking to do is important, and worth a small donation.
