Story
Age UK Lancashire has been a huge source of support for our family over the past few years. Charnley Fold in Bamber Bridge hosts respite care for loved ones with dementia. It allowed our grandad and currently allows our Aunty to maintain a level of independence in a safe and supportive environment. More than that, they can explore interests (and even find new ones!) and develop friendships. The other side to this fantastic charity is the support and guidance they provide families with. Families trying to navigate the complexities of a system they’re thrown into when someone they love more than anyone is diagnosed with dementia.
For this, and many more reasons aside, we (Lauren and Mike), have decided to raise money by completing ’Rat Race’ on Saturday 7th May. The 20 miles and 200 obstacles certainly won’t be a walk in the park, but with the support of our team of friends, we’re determined to get round before the sun sets at least! If you are able, it would be greatly appreciated if you could support our chosen charity so that Charnley Fold can continue to support families like ours. In return, you’ll have full access to photos of the inevitable cuts, bruises and whatever else!
Thank you! 😁
