Fundraising for Children's Cancer Fund
Story

In November 2017 my niece Isabella aged 8 was diagnosed with Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma - this is a malignant soft tissue tumour that is formed from embryonic skeletal muscule tissue. Following the diagnosis she then went through many rounds of chemotherapy at Newcastle RVI before heading to America for Proton Therapy.
Further chemotherapy and surgery followed on her return to the UK and despite the countless operations she has had at Newcastle RVI, Isabella has battled through this awful disease and is doing well considering where we were 10 months ago.
After visiting the Cancer ward myself and seeing first-hand the level of care provided in these extremely difficult and challenging circumstances, the challenges the staff face is unimaginable. Without the level of care and support provided for Isabella the sitatuion could be very different.
The Children's Cancer Fund helps to improve the quality of life of children and teenagers being treated for cancer on Wards 4 and 14 of the Great North Children's Hospital. The charity provide medical equipment, play and social activities to help keep the children entertained and improve their well-being whilst on the ward.
In order to support this fantastic charity and the work they do, I will be doing the Great North Run on Sunday 9th September 2018. if you could donate as little or as much as you can to support this charity it would be greatly appreciated.
