Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My gorgeous cousin Meelah has been diagnosed with a condition called Williams Syndrome.
Williams syndrome is a developmental disorder that affects many parts of the body. This condition is characterized by mild to moderate intellectual disability or learning problems, unique personality characteristics, distinctive facial features, and cardiovascular problems.
People with Williams syndrome typically have difficulty with visual-spatial tasks such as drawing and assembling puzzles, but they tend to do well on tasks that involve spoken language, music, and learning by repetition. Affected individuals have outgoing, engaging personalities and tend to take an extreme interest in other people.
She is the most loving, caring and happy girl you will ever meet in your life but unfortunately the syndrome may mean she will need some medical assistance at some point in her life, which includes heart surgery.
I will be shaving my head to raise awareness for this charity and hopefully provide them with a donation that will help bring light to their organisation and fund towards more research behind the syndrome.
I love you so much Meelah you inspire me every day.
As for my hair, I will be donating that to The Little Princess Trust where they will then create and give away, free of charge, real hair wigs to children that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other illnesses.
