Story

In memory of my wonderful Mum, who loved being by the sea, a group of us will be walking the coast path from West Bay to Weymouth (approx 23 miles) on Easter Sunday. All money raised will be going to the Fortuneswell Cancer Trust which requires £1.76 million for a new outpatients department. These changes to the cancer services at Dorset County Hospital, in developing the West Dorset Cancer Centre will provide Radiotherapy services to Dorchester. There will also be Outpatients’ department to be built above the radiotherapy area and the chemotherapy suite will be reconfigured so family members and friends will be able to sit with their loved ones during treatment. This was one of the things that my mum found so hard about her chemotherapy treatment. Although the staff were lovely and supportive she needed her family and we wanted to be there during those difficult 8 hour days but the facilities could not accommodate this.  Please help us to raise as much as possible so these improvements can be made for other families in the future. ( And if you're brave enough come join us on our walk! )
