Story
On Saturday 16 September, Lewis Silkin will be holding the world’s first ever, ‘COLLABORATHON’ at the Limehouse Loop, in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK.
The challenge is to take on an alternative, collaborative triathlon, that will be done as a team effort. Rather than the conventional components of running, cycling and swimming, those taking on the challenge will be:
- Running/walking (10km or 20km)
- Cycling (40km)
- Kayaking (10km)
As most of us are triers rather than triathletes, this will be one of the toughest challenges we have taken on! We will also be putting our teamwork skills to the test by running/walking connected at the wrist, cycling on tandems and kayaking in two person kayaks.
Collectively we are hoping to complete 1,000 km – which would approximately equate to us doing the distance of 20 Olympic triathlons.
All of this is in order to raise funds for Alzheimer's Research UK, the UK's leading charity aiming to defeat dementia, and all donations will be greatly appreciated. We will provide further details nearer the time if anyone would like to cheer our team on.
