Resolution 15K Run - Tatton Park · 11 November 2012 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  It's been a while since I did this - and I thought I wouldn't do it again.......................however, I have just had a great year celebrating being 50 by running at 50+ events.  The 55th of the year will be this one and it's on Remembrance Sunday and in aid of the Stroke Association.  This got me remembering one of the most inspirational ladies in my life - my godmother Dorothy.  She suffered a stroke in her early 40s and rebuilt her life (learning to talk again with a French accent!) in the most positive manner.  She lived to over 90 - although in her last 10 years her health was affected by more strokes, but she always had a smile on her face.

So, I thought I'd donate a little to this worthy cause.  If you would like to too, then thank you very much, but I understand if not.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
