People often ask why I do what I do to help people through the aftermath of such traumatic experiences? 

The answer is because I see that it makes a huge difference to their lives! If I didn't see this difference, then I wouldn't still be doing it 11 years on...it's as simple as that!

I never cease to be amazed at the courage people show in taking these steps in dealing with their distressing experiences and the lasting effects of them.  It is a privilege and an honour to be a small part of the journey of each individual who steps through our doors. 

The effects of sexual abuse can be vast and can prevent people from living their lives to its fullest.  The extreme of this is that they don't live their lives at all, they merely exist, perhaps in isolation. To speak to someone who is impartial, who understands, can start the process of unravelling their past, making sense of confusing thoughts, feelings and behaviours, enabling them to feel 'normal'. They can then begin to live again, to experience the present and look forward to a positive future rather than being stuck in the memories of the past.
