Story
Why Keech Hospice Care I hear you ask ?
Well on the 1st Sept last year my mums cancer had began to show some alarming symptoms. She was continuously restless and agitated having no ability to sleep or rest as her body was experiencing such acute pain. After a visit from the Keech staff during the most horrendous night we was blessed that a bed was available the following morning for my mum to be admitted. Watching my mum over the following 17 days as she was being cared for, pain eased, less scared and being so wonderfully treated by the nurses, doctors, healthcare workers, volunteers, cleaners and cooks was such a relief to my family. Without exception every member of Keech Hospice Care staff where all superb. They took their time with my mum and my family always listening, never rushing and always showing the utmost of care and respect.
In short during this time they filled me with a sense of relief that I never knew I could be capable of feeling during such a whirlwind of an emotional time.
With Keech sorting my mum's medication and with her pain far more stable I brought her home from Keech on September 19th so as she requested she could spend her final days in her own home. She died peacefully on September 26th with her family by her side.
It costs near on £6 million a year to keep Keech Hospice open. 70% of that is raised through donations and fundraising. That's a whopping £15000.00 a day. Your donations will mean that Keech can provide care, medicine, and peace to an adult or child who are in desperate need and comfort and support to the family around them.
Lastly I would like to thank you for visiting my Just Giving page and I want you to know that during every step of the 26.2 miles I'll be helped along the way safe in the knowledge of the kind donations that you've made to this very worthwhile cause.
Thank you once again.
Linsay xx
