Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to set up this page to enable friends to give to a charity close to my heart. We have sadly lost both my lovely mum Angela and father-in-law Pete to this cruel disease within the last four years.
Nearly 9,000 people a year are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the UK. Tragically, it is a cancer that is so often found too late for a good prognosis and it therefore has the lowest survival rate of all cancers - just 3% of those diagnosed survive for five years. It is also the only cancer that has seen no improvement in this figure over the last 40 years. Yet despite these figures, pancreatic cancer attracts little research funding in comparison with many other cancers - funding that is crucial if those figures are to change and more hope be given to people like mum and Pete. PCRF exists to address these issues and raise funds for new research and to give a voice to pancreatic cancer patients and their families.
I have been making drawings of several of my friends' furry loved ones over the last month or so. I am happy to give away the originals to you all and ask only that you make a small donation in return. And I pledge to continue to draw pet portraits until I raise £500.
Thank you so much for your donation.
