We provide free conductive education to help children with cerebral palsy

Story

As many of you know Harrison has taken many steps in his small life so far. Throughout these, all of us around him have taken leaps of faith believing in his strength and capabilities, when often we were told there was little hope. In many cases parents of children with cerebral palsy are told that their child may never walk, talk or live an independent life however through lots of hard work and dedication from the children and staff at the charity Stick 'n' Step truly amazing things can happen!
Stick ‘n’ Step is a children's charity based in Merseyside that was formed by a group of parents who have children with cerebral palsy. They provide free specialist education and support services to children with cerebral palsy– and their families. Stick ‘n’ Step deliver a practical and successful approach that provides coping mechanisms and techniques to allow children and young adults with cerebral palsy to manage the difficulties caused by their disability. They help to increase their confidence and independence allowing them to feel more positive about their future and their ability to lead independent and fulfilled lives.
Despite the incredible service they provide, Stick 'n' Step receive no government funding and rely 100% on donations from the local community. To keep their doors open, their team of fundraisers must raise £375,000 every year. This year Harrison and I have joined them and are trying to help the special people who have are helping us to get him on his feet.
So please ‘stick’ your hand in your pockets and take a ‘step’ towards giving children like Harrison the freedom to do what so many of us take for granted.
