Story

I've never done this before - and chances are if you have, I've donated to help you! So this is me calling in all those favours right now...

One cold, fat, wine-fuelled January evening, I signed up to do Tough Mudder, thinking it would be the kick up the backside to get fit and lose 40lbs. This was before I watched the videos of the obstacles - the electric field, arctic enema, barbed wire, 20ft walls, mud baths and more... I was oblivious to the impending doom. I was going to train, I was going to eat healthy, it would be awesome.

Needless to say, that hasn't happened. 3 months ago I proudly announced to the world that I could finally run 5k. I was on my way! ...Then it got hot, it got sunny, BBQs started, the evenings grew long and balmy - and my training plan went out of the window with my good intentions.

And now it's almost here - less than a month away! I haven't run in weeks, I get out of breath walking the dogs - Tough Mudder send me emails counting down the days, and I REALLY need a good incentive to turn up on 10th Sept.

So here we are. This is where you come in! Our catering trailer needs a generator so we can go out on the road selling our wonderful burgers and Welsh coffee to the masses! Not only will this spread joy and full bellies to the wider world, it'll give us the chance to spread the word about what we do in Wales, and our volunteers the chance to gain confidence and practical work experience on the job!

I know it's not world peace, it's not fluffy, it's not starving kids in Africa - but it IS helping local people to find work and get their lives back on track.  And not just that, this is me practically (I hope - oh God) killing myself in the name of charity (and tight abs...FAIL).  If I reach my £500 target, I'll be delighted - and not breaking any bones would really be the icing on the cake!
