Story
Lockerbrook Farm Outdoor Education and Environmental Study Centre has given children and young people the chance to get outdoors and get adventurous since 1964.
This year Lockerbrook is celebrating its 50th anniversary of being owned and run as a Woodcraft Folk centre. Woodcraft Folk believe in education for social change, empowering young people to be the confident, cooperative and creative leaders of our future.
I hope you'll agree that it's come a long way from being the cow barn that the brave Sheffield Woodcraft Folk groups would use to rest their rambling feet. I bet they could only have dreamt of beds and hot water. Now Lockerbrook has these, it needs a new dream.
We’re trying to raise £50,000 to celebrate Lockerbrooks 50th year, to keep it growing and thriving. It’s had 50 years of history. 50 years of groups abseiling, meditating, cooking, partying, walking, singing, playing, learning and relaxing. 50 years of people loving it. So wouldn’t it be brilliant if this page is not just filled with donations, but with memories and stories of the centre?
So go on, take yourself back to that beautiful view – and tell us your story about Lockerbrook.
