Story
Hello, I am Louis and for as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a soldier. I am very fortunate to know men that serve in the Parachute Regiment; the Duke of Lancaster Regiment and also the SAS. Each day, on my way to school, I walk past an honours board; inscribed on it are the names of eleven men that have made the ultimate sacrifice and the words, ‘it’s not the life that matters; it’s the courage that you bring to it’. I think it is extremely important to honour the memory of these men and others. It is also important to me to help those gallant men and women that have suffered in recent conflict. A few years ago, I met Mr Colin MacLachlan (22 SAS); he is the Patron of Ancre Somme Association, Scotland, and I made a promise to try to support and honour our British soldiers however I could. I am learning to play the saxophone and hope that playing this instrument, in my local town, will allow me to achieve this. I also live in a boarding House and feel like I have lots of big brothers or ‘Cressbrookians’ as we call them. These incredible friends of mine are also assisting my efforts. The monies that I raise will be given to the charity, Ancre Somme Association, Scotland; Registered charity SCO48597; Patron Colin MacLachlan.
Your support is truly appreciated and really will make a big difference. Thank you, Louis.
